School Site Council

The School Site Council is elected and operates according to state law. It’s comprised of five R. L. Stevens staff members including the principal, three teachers, and one other staff member. The remaining five Council members are parents of students attending R. L. Stevens or community members. The members receive appropriate training and participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs.

 

The council meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month from 3:30 – 5:00. The School Site Council is legislatively required to:

  • develop a comprehensive plan designed to improve the effectiveness of the school program
  • annually review the plan, establish a new budget, and make modifications to the plan to reflect changing needs and priorities of the District and the school
  • recommend approval of the revised plan to the District School Board
